It was in that moment that I knew, Psalm Isadora, would be a part of my sexual.
I was in awe of a wildness that I wanted to touch in myself. For eight years, Isadora traveled to India to delve deeper into the path of Tantra and teach yoga to sex-trafficked women in the red light district of Calcutta, work that would eventually become part of a documentary titled Shakti. This episode is a tribute to our guest, the late Psalm Isadora, who tragically took her own life March 26th, 2017, a mere 45 days after the date of this reco. Raised in a religious cult as a child, Isadora endured years of sexual trauma that eventually ignited her passion to teach sexual empowerment and modern sex ed. She demystified the ancient secrets of Tantra to make them accessible to the modern masses. When I told her my predicament, she customized the class for me. The latest depression that came over Psalm was a heavy one that had been weighing on her since the winter. She was incredibly courageous in the face of a chemical imbalance that took her to sometimes dizzying heights and debilitating lows. Her groundbreaking work has been featured on CNN, NPR, The Huffington Post, iHeart Radio, Bustle, and many more, and she reached over 66 million homes as the star of Playboy TV’s reality show Cougar Club.
